Amitabh was stunned after watching Abhishek’s film, Jaya Bachchan said nonsense in front of Shahrukh

Mohan Kapoor told in an interview to Siddharth Kanan that a grand screening of ‘Happy New Year’ was organized in Mumbai. During this time the entire star cast of the film and their families were present. Mohan Kapoor told that he was sitting on the seat just ahead of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. When the lights came on during the interval, they saw that Big B i.e. Amitabh Bachchan had a strange expression on his face. He was so surprised after watching the film that his mouth was open and he was sitting completely silent.

Called the film ‘nonsense’ in front of Shahrukh Khan

The story does not end here. Jaya Bachchan looked quite angry after watching the film. According to Mohan Kapoor, Jaya ji got up from her seat and went straight to the film’s lead actor and producer Shahrukh Khan. Without any hesitation he told Shahrukh that there is no logic in this film and it is a complete ‘nonsense’ film. Jaya Bachchan had even said that she has seen this film only because of her son Abhishek Bachchan.

King Khan won hearts with his wit

When Jaya Bachchan was publicly criticizing the film, everyone present there was stunned. But Shahrukh Khan, who is known for his intelligence and wit, handled the situation very gracefully. He was not at all uncomfortable after listening to Jaya Bachchan. Shahrukh smiled and replied lovingly, “Jaya Aunty, this film has been made only for entertainment, there is no need to put any mind into it.” This answer of Shahrukh lightened the atmosphere there.

The film was a success at the box office

Even though Jaya Bachchan did not like this film directed by Farah Khan, the audience loved it a lot. ‘Happy New Year’ featured veteran actors like Shahrukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Jackie Shroff. According to the report, the film had a net collection of around Rs 200 crore at the Indian box office, while worldwide the film had earned a bumper collection of more than Rs 397 crore.
