According to Amrita, her guru had told her mother that someone had tried to cast vashikaran or exert negative influence on her daughter. The actress herself was surprised to hear this. She said that if any normal person had said this, she would probably never have believed it. But he had full confidence in the person who said this. Amrita believed that her Guru neither desired any personal gain nor any kind of fame, so she took his words seriously.

Amrita Rao admitted that for most of her life she did not believe in black magic, vashikaran or any such supernatural power. They thought these were just stories or rumours.
