Amritsar: Minister Laljit Bhullar resigns in manager suicide case, know what CM said

Chandigarh. Punjab Cabinet Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar submitted his resignation on Saturday following instructions from Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Sources gave this information. Bhullar, MLA from Tarn Taran Patti, was asked to resign in connection with the alleged suicide of a district manager of a storage corporation in Amritsar. Mann has directed the Chief Secretary to investigate the matter.

He said that any kind of negligence will not be tolerated. Recently, a video had surfaced on social media in which manager Gagandeep Singh Randhawa was heard saying that he had consumed poisonous substance and he had taken the name of Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar in the video. Earlier, Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia had alleged that Randhawa committed suicide by consuming sulfas. Majithia had also alleged that Randhawa had taken Bhullar’s name before dying.

CM Mann called the incident painful

Chief Minister Mansingh said that this incident is very sad and it is painful for any person to leave this world like this. The Chief Minister has expressed deep condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the deceased and prayed to God for the peace of the departed soul. He said that to ensure a fair investigation into the matter, the resignation of the cabinet minister concerned has been taken.
