Massive explosion in Jewish school in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Mayor calls it an attempt to spread hatred

Amsterdam Jewish School Explosion: An explosion at a Jewish school in Amsterdam, Netherlands on Saturday morning shook the city. Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema described it as a deliberate attack against the Jewish community. The blast occurred in an upscale residential area in the southern part of the city, causing limited damage to the school, but no one was injured.

Police and fire brigade responded quickly

Immediately after the incident, police and fire brigade reached the spot and controlled the fire. Mayor Halsema said in a press release that the explosion caused no major damage and no injuries were reported. He also said that an investigation into the incident has been launched and security at Jewish institutions has been increased more than ever before.

According to reports, an explosion occurred at a Jewish school in the southern part of Amsterdam on Saturday morning. Police and fire department teams immediately reached the spot, due to which the damage could be limited. It is a matter of relief that the blast occurred early in the morning, causing only minor damage to the school building and no casualties.

Mayor Halsema’s strong reaction

The mayor said that the attack was against the community and there was some kind of premeditated intention behind it.

Increasing attacks against Jewish institutions

Earlier on Friday night, there was an incident of arson in a Jewish prayer place located in the center of Rotterdam. After this the security of synagogues and other Jewish institutions in Amsterdam was already strengthened. In neighboring Belgium too, an explosion occurred in a synagogue in Liège on Monday, causing a fire. After these incidents, many questions are being raised regarding the safety of the Jewish community, and officials are busy investigating such attacks.
