OnePlus Pad Go 2 review: When we talk about tablets, the primary choice of most users is often the iPad. Due to its simple and user-friendly design and long-term software support. However, now Android brands are trying to stand on par with Apple’s iPad. Be it Samsung’s Galaxy A-series or Xiaomi’s Pad 7, now OnePlus has also joined the race. It has recently launched a new tablet OnePlus Pad Go 2 in the range of Rs 30,000. Let us know how suitable this tablet is to buy.
OnePlus Pad Go 2: Price
OnePlus Pad Go 2 prices range as per its configuration. The price of 8GB + 128GB storage (Wi-Fi) variant is Rs 26,999. The price of 8GB + 256GB (Wi-Fi) variant is Rs 29,999. Additionally, the 8GB+256GB model with Wi-Fi+5G connectivity is priced at Rs 32,999. This tablet is available in Lavender Drift and Shadow Black colors.
OnePlus Pad Go 2: Design
The design of OnePlus Pad Go 2 is largely inspired by the iPad. Its flat frame, rounded edges and 6.83 mm thin body give it a modern look. Despite being a 12-inch tablet, it is comfortable to hold and fits easily in a bag. One significant change in the design is seen in the camera layout; The camera previously located in the middle is now located in the corner. However, its matte finish back panel catches fingerprints and smudges quickly. The tablet has a power button on the top, volume buttons on the side, and a USB-C port on the bottom. However, the absence of a magnetic keyboard connector and IP rating limits it primarily to indoor use.
OnePlus Pad Go 2: Display
The display of this tablet is its biggest feature. It has a 12.1-inch 2.8K screen, which delivers sharp text and natural colors with Dolby Vision support. Despite being an LCD panel, black levels are good, and there is no problem with backlight bleed. Its 7:5 aspect ratio gives a balanced experience in watching videos. However, its bezels are somewhat thick. The display features a 120Hz refresh rate and TÜV Rhineland certification, providing comfort to the eyes during long periods of use. Its brightness is 900 nits, but the reflection of the screen in bright sunlight can cause some problems.
OnePlus Pad Go 2: Software and performance
The OnePlus Pad Go 2 runs OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, which offers a smooth and user-friendly experience. It has Open Canvas feature, which facilitates multitasking on larger screens. It supports split-screen, multi-window and picture-in-picture. Additionally, this is the first tablet from OnePlus that comes with stylus support. It assures 5 years of OS updates and up to 6 years of security updates. The tablet is impressive for everyday tasks thanks to the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra processor. As for audio, it has a quad-speaker setup, but there is no support for Dolby Atmos.
OnePlus Pad Go 2: Camera
Camera performance isn’t great, as it is with most tablets. It has an 8MP rear camera, which can take decent pictures in good lighting. The 8MP front camera is located on the long side of the tablet, which makes video calling simple. It is suitable for online meetings and selfies.
OnePlus Pad Go 2: Battery
The battery life of this tablet is its biggest feature. It has a 10,050mAh battery, which gives about 15 to 18 hours of screen-on time on a single charge. With light use this tablet can last for 2 to 3 days. It supports 33W fast charging, but has a reverse charging feature, allowing users to charge other devices.
OnePlus Pad Go 2: The right choice to buy?
Overall, the OnePlus Pad Go 2 is a balanced mid-range Android tablet. Its display is clear and bright, battery life is excellent, and the software provides a smooth multitasking experience. If you need a tablet for studies, light gaming or video streaming, this is a good option in the Rs 30,000 range.
