Vadhvan Port Agriculture Market : The Maharashtra government has approved the establishment of an international standard agricultural market on a 1,200-acre area near Panvel or Pagaran Bandar. This project will lead the market to become the world’s largest agricultural trading hub in the future. The necessary ‘Maharashtra Agricultural Produce Marketing (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill’ was passed by a majority in the Legislative Assembly in December 2025. Due to this decision, the agricultural sector of the state will get a big commercial benefit.
Speaking at the Bhoomipuja of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Shetkari Bhavan and inauguration ceremony of various development works at Agricultural Produce Market Committee in Kopargaon (District Ahilyanagar), Minister Jayakumar Rawal said that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar had presented the concept of this project.
