Gumla:- A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Gumla district of Jharkhand, where an elderly man was beaten and thrown alive into a burning pyre. There is panic in the entire village after the incident. The entire incident took place in Korambi village of Sadar police station area. The entire village is in shock.
Regarding the incident, the deceased's son Sandeep Oraon told that on Thursday, an elderly woman of the village, Mangri Oraon, had gone to the well to take bath. During this, she slipped and fell into the well, where she died due to drowning. After the post-mortem, the family brought the woman's body to the village, where in the evening the woman was taken for cremation.
He told that his father Budheshwar Oraon had also gone to the cremation of the woman. Meanwhile, deceased Mangri Oraon's brother Jhadi Oraon, son Karampal Oraon and others beat up 60 year old Budheshwar Oraon. After beating him, everyone threw his father into the burning pyre. Due to which he died painfully.
The son of the deceased told that when his father did not return home, he started searching for him. Some people of the village informed him about the incident. After that, when they reached the spot in the morning, they saw the father's dead body lying in the pyre, they informed the police.
After receiving information about the incident, Gumla police reached the spot with its team and started investigating the matter. Forensic team from Ranchi has been called to the spot for investigation.

It is said that Budheshwar Oraon earlier worked as an exorcist. Due to which the villagers are expressing in hushed tones the possibility of murder on suspicion of witchcraft.
