Anahat Singh created history in Copper Championship Gujarati

17 year old Anahat Singh had created history. Had stood second in the Ramati Copper Championship in Australia. She has become the first Indian woman to reach the PSA Copper-level finals. Despite battling an ankle injury, she finished runner-up at the NSW Squash Bega Open 2025.

The rising Indian star’s brilliant journey at the Bega Country Club came to an end when she was forced to bow out of the final against Egypt’s Habiba Hani after trailing 10-4. Anahat Singh had won the first game by 11-9, but Hani hit back and won the next two games by 11-5 and 11-8, but due to injury, Singh had to lose the match.

Singh’s journey till the final was excellent. In the semi-finals, she defeated Egypt’s Nour Khafghi 3–2 (10–12, 11–5, 11–5, 10–12, 11–7), although she had a knee problem. Earlier, she had defeated Hayley Ward of South Africa 3–0 and Sarah Cardwell of Australia 3–0 after getting byes in the first round.
