Anaya Bangar, daughter of former India cricketer Sanjay Bangar, shared her happiness as a close friend of Sarfaraz Khan returned to the IPL. Sarfaraz, absent since 2023, was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 75 lakh at the IPL 2026 auction in Abu Dhabi. After the news, he posted on Instagram, saying, “Thank you so much, CSK, for giving me new life.”

Their friendship goes back a long way. During the IPL 2025 season, Anaya visited Sarfaraz at his home and spent time with his family. She later shared photos on social media featuring Sarfaraz and his father, Naushad Khan. In one of the posts, Sarfaraz mentioned that they were meeting again after a gap of two to three years. Anaya captioned the images with a nostalgic message, saying they picked up cricket bats before mobile phones and had been friends since the beginning.

Earlier this year, Anaya opened up about her transition, detailing her experience after undergoing hormone therapy and gender-affirming surgery. Previously known as Aryan, she has a sporting background and competed in age-group cricket, continuing a family legacy rooted in the game.

The bat has done the talking for Sarfaraz on the domestic stage. During the current Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he has delivered 256 runs in six innings, blending control and aggression at a brisk scoring rate.
