7 new cases of corona virus have been reported in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday, after which the total number of infected people in the state has increased to 26. According to the Health Department, of the new cases, 4 have been reported from Guntur, 2 from East Godavari and 1 from Bapatla district.

After seven new cases of corona virus were reported in the state on Tuesday, the total number of infected people increased to 26. However, health officials have appealed to the people to remain alert instead of panicking and said that at present there are no signs of any major cluster of infection or widespread community spread in the state.
According to the state health department, among the new cases, four infections have been reported from Guntur district, two from East Godavari and one from Bapatla. Officials say that the infected patients have been found from different areas of the state, so right now it is not being seen as an infection concentrated at any one place.
In which districts were Covid cases found?
The district-wise distribution of total cases reported in the state also remains the main basis for monitoring by health officials. As per the available data, Kadapa has recorded the highest number of cases at eight. After this, six cases have been reported in Guntur, three in East Godavari, two each in Kakinada and Bapatla. Apart from this, one infected patient each has been identified in Visakhapatnam, Eluru, Nellore, NTR and Parvatipuram Manyam districts. The Health Department is monitoring the infection situation in different districts and testing is going on to investigate suspected cases.
How is the condition of the patients?
According to the Health Department, 145 samples have been tested so far in the state. Out of the total 26 infected patients, some are undergoing treatment in the hospital, while many patients have been kept in home isolation under medical observation. Three patients have completely recovered after treatment and have been discharged from the hospital.
Four Covid-related deaths have also been reported in the state. According to officials, all these patients already had serious health problems before the infection. According to reports, many of the dead were suffering from diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure or kidney.
Keep an eye on new Covid variants too
Health officials have also increased surveillance of new variants of the virus amid rising Covid cases in Andhra Pradesh. According to recent reports, RF.5 subvariant of Omicron has been identified in some positive samples and the process of confirmation through genome sequencing is also being monitored. However, officials have not said any major outbreak at this time.
