Andhra Pradesh Train Fire: Fire broke out in two bogies of Tata-Ernakulam Express in Anakapalle district; death of a passenger

Andhra Pradesh Train Fire: A major rail accident has occurred near Elamanchili in Anakapalle district of Andhra Pradesh, where a fire broke out in the Tata-Ernakulam (18189) Express at around 1.30 am, due to which two AC coaches (B1 and M2) were burnt. Two forensic teams are investigating to find out the cause of the fire.

According to the information, a passenger Chandrashekhar Sundar (70), a resident of Vijayawada, burnt to death during the fire in Tata-Ernakulam (18189) Express. The passengers passed out amid thick smoke; His belongings were burnt. One of the affected coaches was carrying 82 passengers and the other was carrying 76 passengers. Rail traffic on the Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada route was stopped for some time, due to which many trains were delayed.

The affected passengers were evacuated to Samaralkota and the train later restarted after new coaches were installed. Railway PRO said that this morning two coaches of Tata-Ernakulam Express caught fire near Elmanchili, Anakapalle. The loco pilot immediately stopped the train, so that the passengers could be evacuated safely. More information is awaited.
