Anger flares up after more than 600 arrests in PoK, JAAC seeks help from India

New Delhi: The situation is worsening in Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Anti-Pakistan protests have intensified there after more than 600 civil rights activists were arrested as part of a strict government crackdown. At the same time, ‘Joint Awami Action Committee’ i.e. JAAC has given an open challenge to Islamabad and has also appealed for help from India.

Movement sparked by arrests

Protests started across PoK after the detention of key JAAC leader Shaukat Nawaz Mir. JAAC said, "The slaves are under their control. Shah is in prison." A video of JAAC’s main member Sardar Aman Khan is becoming increasingly viral on social media.

In this video, he is talking about the huge shortage of ration, medicines and other essential things in PoK. Aman Khan appealed to the people of Mendhar, Poonch, Rajouri, Doda and Kashmir Valley. He said, "There is shortage of ration and medicines on this side. We need your help."

Demand to end LoC and move forward

JAAC leaders clearly said that they now want to end the ceasefire line. Aman Khan asked the crowd, "Should we move towards LoC or not?" At this the people present there shouted loudly, "Yes!"

He said that if doors are kept open for political talks then people from the other side should also come forward. Their aim is to get out of the control of Pakistan.

Gave warning to Pakistan

Aman Khan strongly condemned the highhandedness of Pakistani officials. He said that now the local people are not afraid of Islamabad’s threats. Addressing the crowd he said, "If you think that we are weak and trapped, then you are mistaken. God willing, we will show you the way."

He warned that if bullets were fired in response to Kashmiri sentiments then they too had options. "Don’t complain tomorrow that you felt bad." Khan further said, "We are not people who follow your mood. If you show loyalty, we will also show it. If you show cruelty, we will also show cruelty. We are also human beings."

Appeal to the entire area

In another video released yesterday, Aman Khan spoke to the people of Srinagar, Baramulla, Poonch, Mendhar, Rajouri, Jammu, Ladakh, Kargil and Gilgit-Baltistan. He said that PoK has been facing pressure and oppression for more than a month.

JAAC says that the protests will continue until people’s demands are met. The increasing protests in PoK and the demand for help from India have given a new twist to this entire matter.
