In Madan Mitra’s own assembly constituency Kamarhati, some unknown people attacked his car vigorously. The angry mob not only threw eggs at his car but also raised slogans of ‘chor-chor’. The fortunate thing was that the MLA himself was not present inside the vehicle when this entire incident happened, due to which he escaped safely. However, Madan Mitra has alleged that during this attack the mob beat up his driver.

According to the information received, this entire incident happened when Madan Mitra was on a visit to his assembly constituency Kamarhati and was holding a meeting regarding local issues. Meanwhile, a group of people present there suddenly became furious and started targeting the parked car of the MLA.

Madan Mitra, while talking to the media after the incident, shared the inside story of this entire incident.

Madan Mitra’s statement:

“I was holding an important meeting with local workers in my MLA’s office. Then some citizens of Kamarhati came and told me that some people outside were threatening the local residents and had also attacked some houses. I immediately went out to take stock of the situation and started collecting information from the people of the affected houses. Meanwhile, some youth came and alerted me that a group of about 100-150 boys were moving towards the office raising slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and their intentions did not seem right. Shortly after this my car was targeted.”

MLA Madan Mitra has directly accused local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers of being behind this entire attack.
