Angkrish Raghuvanshi has only one goal for IPL 2026, KKR has to win at any cost.

Mumbai: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi says he assesses his game based on his team’s performance and is constantly working on improving his skills as a top-order batsman and wicketkeeper. In a team that has New Zealand’s Tim Seifert and India’s uncapped player Tejasvi Dahiya as specialist wicketkeepers, Raghuvanshi’s skills behind the wicket can prove to be important for KKR as it will be a challenge for their team to create the right combination in the Indian Premier League.

Raghuvanshi said, “My domestic cricket T20 team Mumbai needed me for wicketkeeping, so I accepted it. It was a new challenge that I really enjoyed. I have practiced a lot and now let’s see how the results turn out.” The competition for a place in the Indian team in all formats is intensifying and specialist batsmen like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tilak Verma are also continuously improving their bowling skills, in such a situation Raghuvanshi will also have to face a tough challenge.

“I don’t think too much about it,” he said. I just focus on improving my game as much as I can. Cricket is a very dynamic game and hence I am constantly working on my batting as well as my fielding skills and wicketkeeping skills. I’m trying to be the best I can be.”

The 21-year-old player did not get many opportunities in domestic cricket for Mumbai, but he took part in both the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy tournaments. Raghuvanshi said, “I did my best preparation, but I evaluate my performance only on the basis of whether the team wins or not.” Hopefully I will perform well in the IPL and contribute to my team’s victory.

With his mentor and coach Abhishek Nair taking over as KKR head coach, Raghuvanshi is confident that he will get to learn a lot from the former Indian player. He said, “This will be a great opportunity for me as well as the entire team to learn something new.” He has a very good understanding of cricket and is a very nice person. I have learned a lot from him in the past as well. Hopefully, we will be successful in winning the trophy together with them.
