Angkrish Raghuvanshi on Wicketkeeping Duties for KKR in IPL 2026

Angkrish Raghuvanshi, the Mumbai batter, who has been signed by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) season, has lately discussed the possibility of him being the wicketkeeper when the tournament starts.
Moreover, the 21-year-old has not only recently focused on his wicketkeeping responsibilities but he was also seen practicing those skills and was named as a wicketkeeper in the Mumbai squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT 2025) earlier this year.
When asked whether he would be the one keeping wickets in IPL 2026 for KKR, Angkrish Raghuvanshi replied to PTI, “I am really enjoying keeping. It is challenging, but it makes you feel like you are always in the game. (On KKR chances) That you will find out in due time.”
Will Angkrish Raghuvanshi be the KKR wicketkeeper in IPL 2026?
The response is still a straightforward no, as the teenager is just a rare wicketkeeper and KKR found through the IPL 2026 auction other players in that position.
Angkrish, though very momentarily, was a prospective wicketkeeper-batsman for KKR after they parted ways with Quinton de Kock and Rahmanullah Gurbaz, but soon KKR has two overseas players to occupy that position who are already engaged with the press.
The franchise, which has won the league three times, secured the services of New Zealanders, Finn Allen and Tim Seifert, to fill the overseas wicketkeeper/opener void and one of these players is expected to be the one to partner Ajinkya Rahane at the top of the order.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi SCORE 50 runs with bat in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26
The dynamic right-handed batsman is up for the IPL 2026 season with a glorious performance in the domestic cricket league. Mumbai’s Angkrish scored a smart and stylish knock of 68*(66) to gain a huge victory for his side by nine wickets against Chhattishgarh in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, played today (December 29).
Angkrish was one of the best players in the IPL 2025 season with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), despite it being a very dull season, wherein the Kolkata-based team ended up in the eighth position, which was the bottom half of the table. He scored 300 runs in 11 innings at a good average of 33.33, including a fifty. Raghuvanshi is again going to be the one of the mainstays in KKR’s batting order during IPL 2026, while at the same time he will be a backup wicketkeeper owing to his latest skills.
