Entertainment : Web series “The Night Manager” starring Aditya Roy Kapur, Subita Dhulipala and Anil Kapoor has won the International Emmy Award 2024. The film was nominated in the Best Drama Series category. There were high expectations that the series would win this award, but it did not happen, and even when it did, it failed. The French show “Les Gautes de Dieu” won and took home the title of Best Drama Series. “Night Manager” is India's only entry in 14 categories at the International Emmy Awards 2024.
Directed by Sandeep Modi and Priyanka Ghosh, the web series is an adaptation of John le Carré's novel and the British show The Night Manager. The awards ceremony, held in New York on Monday evening, was hosted by Indian actor and stand-up comedian Vir Das. Veer Das also won the International Emmy Award last year. This time, the International Emmy Awards published the names of the winners on its official page on the social network X. The post said that “Drops of God” won an International Emmy Award in the “Drama Series” category.
Other shows nominated for the 2024 International Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series include “The Newsreader – Season 2” from Australia and “EOC, el Espia Arrepentido” (Season 2) from Argentina. The first season of the Delhi Crime series starring Shefali Shah is the only Indian web series to win the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series (2020). The International Emmy Awards received nominations from countries such as Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Japan and Germany.
