Annual e-KYC mandatory for farmers who are beneficiaries of PM Kisan Yojana

bureau report

Sonbhadra / Uttar Pradesh –

District Magistrate Charcharat Gaur has informed that under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana run by the Government of India, it has now been made mandatory for all the beneficiary farmers to get e-KYC done once a year. If a farmer does not get e-KYC done within the stipulated period, his scheme installments will be temporarily stopped by the Government of India.

The next installment of the scheme will be released only after the completion of e-KYC. Agriculture Department informed that with the aim of making the scheme more transparent, effective and limited to genuinely eligible farmers, annual e-KYC has been made mandatory. For the convenience of farmers, many options of e-KYC have been made available, through which farmers can easily complete their process. Farmers can do facial e-KYC themselves sitting at home through PM Kisan mobile app developed by the Government of India.

Apart from this, farmers can also get biometric e-KYC done by visiting the nearest public service center. For this, Aadhar card and mobile number linked to Aadhar will be required. E-KYC of farmers is also being done through Nyaya Panchayat and Development Block level employees of the Agriculture Department. Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, financial assistance of Rs 6000 is sent directly to the bank accounts of eligible farmers in three equal installments every year.

The Agriculture Department has appealed that those farmers who have not done e-KYC under PM Kisan Yojana between March 2025 and March 2026, should complete their e-KYC process before June 30, so that there is no inconvenience in getting the upcoming installment of the scheme.
