Another blow by DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran, know what he said about the women of North India?
Chennai/New Delhi, January 14, 2026: Another slur from DMK MP about women Due to another controversial statement of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MP Dayanidhi Maran, political turmoil has once again started between North and South India. DMK MP Marne Uttar indian womenA very objectionable comment has been made comparing women with the women of South India.
What is the whole controversy?
I made this statement recently in a program of Muslim-owned Qaidya Milath Government College for Women. DMK MP South IndiaHe was speaking on the socio-economic difference between North Indian states (especially Tamil Nadu) and North Indian states. Meanwhile, he said, “South Indian women are educated and contributing to the economy, while North Indian women are asked only to stay at home and give birth to children.”
I boasted that South Indian women are leaders in the IT and manufacturing sectors, while North IndiaWomen’s development has been hindered due to patriarchal mentality. He had fueled controversy by terming the status of women in Hindi-speaking states as “regressive”.
Political reactions:
Bharatiya Janata Party has termed this statement as anti-women and divisive. BJP leaders said that DMK has the mentality of constantly insulting North Indians. Apart from this, users on social media are calling this statement “malicious”. Many people have refuted the MP’s argument by citing names like Sushma Swaraj, Nirmala Sitharaman (who also has connections with North India) and Kiran Bedi.
However, as the controversy escalated, some leaders of the party made a mad attempt to clarify that the purpose of the beating was only to emphasize the importance of women’s education and not to insult anyone. But the opposition is now adamant on demanding an apology from Maran.
