Another eye of India in the sky…Countdown begins for the launch of PSLV-C62
New Delhi : India is once again moving towards a big achievement in space. The Indian Space Research Organization is going to start its launch program for the year 2026 with the PSLV-C62 mission on January 12. This launch will be done at 10.17 am from Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota. Under this mission, the advanced Earth observation satellite EOS-N1 will be installed in space, which has been named ‘Anwesha’. This satellite will provide new strength to India’s surveillance and security capabilities.
Return flight of PSLV and significance of the mission
Let us tell you that PSLV, which is considered the most reliable rocket of ISRO, is making a comeback through this mission after the previous technical failure. In its 64th launch, this rocket weighing 260 tonnes and 44 meters high will deliver a total of 15 satellites into orbit. The most important among these is the special imaging spy satellite ‘Anwesha’ developed by DRDO, which will be able to take accurate pictures of enemy targets.
Private sector involvement and international cooperation
India’s private space sector also has an important role in this mission. Hyderabad-based company Dhruva Space is sending seven of its satellites into space for the first time, which is considered a big achievement for the country’s private space sector. Apart from this, satellites of many countries including France, Nepal, Brazil and Britain will also be launched through this flight, which will also strengthen international cooperation.
Countdown begins, big expectations from the mission
The 25-hour countdown for the mission has started. About 17 minutes after launch, all the satellites will be placed in their designated orbit and the entire mission will last for more than two hours. This launch will not only strengthen India’s confidence in space technology, but will also take the country’s defence, surveillance and global space partnerships to new heights.
