Another firm of Lucknow was involved in smuggling of intoxicating cough syrup, FIR registered against the operator of Kanha Pharmaceuticals in Indiranagar police station.
Lucknow. The political temperature of UP is currently high over smuggling of Narcotic Cough Syrup. After different districts of the state, the name of another firm from Lucknow has come up in smuggling. Drug Inspector Vivek Kumar Singh has lodged an FIR against Aarush Saxena, the director of M/s Kanha Pharmaceuticals, in Indiranagar police station. It is alleged that cough syrup was supplied to different cities for intoxication. According to the FIR, cough syrup was sold contrary to the rules to earn profit as part of a conspiracy.

Drug Department on 11th and 12th October, M/s Arshik Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. And M/s Idhika Lifesciences firm was investigated. During this, it was revealed that 11,783 vials of syrup containing codeine were purchased by Takrohi M/s Kanha Pharmaceuticals firm between April 1, 2024 and October 31, 2024. On the instructions of higher officials, Rae Bareli’s Drug Inspector Shivendra Pratap Singh told after investigation that the firm M/s Ajay Pharma, Kallu Ka Purva, Ratapur, Rae Bareli has also supplied a large quantity of syrup to M/s Kanha Pharmaceuticals. It was also informed that syrup purchased from M/s Biohub Lifesciences, Transport Nagar was also sold on behalf of M/s Ajay Pharma.
The operator did not come after being called several times
The Drug Administration says that the director of the firm, Aarush Saxena, was sent a letter and called several times with the documents, but he did not come. Based on the address mentioned on the portal, the team reached the firm of the accused and found a general store there. Upon enquiry, it was found that the owner of the shop is Mohammad Ahsan, who lives in Dubai. Aarush Saxena had vacated the shop four-five months ago. When contacted on the mobile number available on the portal, Aarush Saxena could not be reached. Because of this, the purchases and sales of the accused could not be verified. The department sent a notice to the accused, to which Aarush did not even respond.

On behalf of Kanpur Nagar Drug Inspector Ompal Singh, the department was informed that the accused had also purchased a large quantity of syrup from M/s Medicina Healthcare, Koparganj, Kanpur. After purchasing the syrup at a low price, the accused used to sell it at a higher price for intoxication. The accused had also purchased cough syrup from another firm of Kanpur, M/s Aggarwal Brothers, Birhana Road. It is alleged that Aarush is not cooperating in the investigation. Inspector Indiranagar says that a case has been registered on the basis of the complaint. Investigation is being done about the accused.
