Another initiative of Delhi Government: Trial of ‘Mist Technology’ started at ITO to reduce pollution

Pollution has been a serious problem in Delhi for a long time and this time too the air quality has remained poor for many days. The AQI of the capital often falls rapidly in winter. Delhi government is adopting various measures to control pollution, but relief has been limited. Now the government has taken the help of mist technology to improve the air quality. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that if this technology proved effective, it would be implemented in other parts of the city also.

Taking another step towards reducing pollution, the Delhi government led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has started the trial of mist technology. Rekha Gupta and Minister Ashish Sood visited the spot and inspected the functioning of this system installed on the roadside near ITO.

19 Mist spray on divider in ITO

According to the information, at present mist sprays have been installed at 19 places on the road dividers on ITO. 16 more mist sprays will be added soon. This system will be activated at an interval of every 10 minutes during peak traffic times. Mist sprays are connected to a dripping plant system, which ensures a constant supply of water. Delhi government says that if this trial is successful, 305 mist sprays will be installed on the main roads of 9 pollution hotspots of the city, which will enable the adoption of ‘mist technology’ on a large scale.

What did CM Rekha say on Mist?

After inspecting the mist spraying project installed at ITO to reduce the pollution level, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that apart from spraying water, many measures have been taken to control pollution, but mist technology in itself seems to be proving to be a big and effective solution.

CM Rekha Gupta said that earlier mist technology was used in NDMC area and its results were satisfactory. Now the Delhi government is preparing a detailed plan to implement it on all the major roads of the capital. In this series, mist sprays have been installed on electric poles at ITO. The Chief Minister said that the initial results of this initiative are encouraging and there are signs of improvement in pollution levels.

He said that work is underway on a plan to install 305 mist sprays at nine major pollution hot spots of the capital, where the air quality is the most severe. Necessary arrangements are being made for this and a detailed action plan is being prepared. The government aims to take this technology to every part of Delhi. The Chief Minister said that this initiative will be beneficial for everyone. “Together we will fight against pollution and this fight will definitely be successful,” he added.
