Another promising student dies in IIT Delhi! There was silence in the campus; ABVP’s warning – “Life is more valuable than degree, administration should be alert on mental health of students”

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad deeply condoles the tragic and untimely demise of Harshit Swami, a first year B.Tech Civil Engineering student of IIT Delhi. He said that this is a very painful and worrying incident, due to which ABVP is completely pained.

ABVP said that it expresses its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased student in this difficult time and prays to God to give the family the strength to bear this unbearable grief.

Demand for impartial investigation of the incident

ABVP state minister Sarthak Sharma said that we demand an impartial investigation into this incident, so that the reality of this tragic incident can be revealed. ABVP believes that ensuring the safety, mental health and overall well-being of students should be the first priority of the institution. ABVP also demands that the institute administration should improve the counseling and support system available to the students, so that such incidents can be prevented in future.

IIT Delhi expressed grief

At the same time, IIT Delhi also expressed deep condolences on the tragic and untimely demise of the first year graduate student. The student’s body was found in his room at New Vindhyachal Apartment on Thursday morning. Delhi Police is investigating this incident. IIT Delhi said that in this hour of grief, the institute stands with the family of the deceased and is providing them all possible assistance.
