Eclipse hits South Africa before Champions Trophy 2025, team's main bowler out
Sports Desk: South Africa's troubles have increased even before the start of the Champions Trophy. African team's fast bowler Enrique Norkhia has been ruled out of the Champions Trophy due to injury. Along with this, he has also been ruled out of the South Africa T20 League currently being played in South Africa.
South Africa issued a press release saying that Enrique Norkhia had undergone a scan on Monday afternoon. In which the seriousness of his injury was revealed. Now he will not be able to recover in time to play the Champions Trophy. South Africa's first match in the Champions Trophy will be played against Afghanistan on 21 February.
When the South African team was announced on Monday, Enrique Norkhia was also included in this team. His inclusion in the team for the Champions Trophy was the center of attraction. Norkhia has not played international cricket since June last year and last took the field on December 2 in the Abu Dhabi T10.

Norkhia also refused to play Test to focus more on franchise cricket. Although he was included in the team during the ODI series against Pakistan last month, his leg was broken by David Miller's yorker while batting in the nets.
Gerald Coetzee will be included in the team
Now Gerald Coetzee can be included in the team in place of Norkhia in the Champions Trophy. Regarding Gerald Coetzee, the coach had said that he had performed well during the 2023 World Cup. He did nothing wrong but Coetzee was left out because of Norkhia's experience. It is unclear whether Norkhia will be able to recover in time to play for Kolkata Knight Riders in this year's IPL.
