The world’s first fully mobile AI-enabled anti-drone patrol vehicle ‘Indrajal Ranger’ has been launched which can detect, track any drone from a distance of 10 km and disable it from 4 km. Hyderabad-based aerial defense systems company Indrajal Drone Defense has developed this vehicle to detect the threat of drones flying without permission in urban areas and border areas and stop them immediately. The vehicle was unveiled at the startup incubator event ‘T-Hub’ and a live demo was also given on the occasion.

The Indrajal Ranger is fitted with an AI-based advanced command system SkyOS, which automatically controls the entire operation. The vehicle is equipped with GNSS satellite tracking technology, a radio frequency jamming system and a signal-based kill switch, which enables the drone to be shot down in an instant. The vehicle is fully mobile and designed to run on a variety of terrains. The exterior of the Indrajal Ranger is based on the Toyota Hilux and in the form of a 4×4 all-terrain vehicle it can easily maneuver even in the toughest conditions.
The front of the vehicle features a strong bumper, high-sensitivity sensors and risk-detection modules. Rainforest panels on the side and an external antenna setup capture the drone’s movements accurately. Integrated jammer and laser units are provided at the rear which can be used to jam or disable the drone. The car is powered by the 2.8 liter diesel engine from the Toyota Hilux, which produces 201 HP of power and 500 Nm of torque.

The top speed of the vehicle is 180 kmph and it can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 10 seconds. The 4×4 all-wheel drive setup comes with separate off-road modes for sand, mud and rocky terrain. ABS, EBD, six airbags, 360-degree camera and tire pressure monitoring system are fitted for vehicle safety. Due to its state-of-the-art technology, high security components and AI-driven command system, the Indrajal Ranger is seen as the most modern and capable anti-drone solution of the future for the country’s security forces.
