Anup Jalota gave controversial advice to AR Rehman, said- ‘Become a Hindu again, you will get films again’
Mumbai The controversy over famous musician AR Rahman’s statement regarding alleged communal discrimination in the industry is not stopping. Now bhajan emperor Anoop Jalota has given a sharp reaction on this issue and has given controversial advice to Rahman. Anoop Jalota has said that if Rehman feels that he is not getting work in films because he is a Muslim, then he should try again by becoming a Hindu.

In an interview given to IANS, Anup Jalota said that he does not agree with Rehman’s words. He said that Rehman was initially a Hindu, later he converted to Islam and after that he got a lot of work and fame. According to Jalota, if Rehman believes that he is not getting work because of his religion, then he should convert his religion and see again whether he gets work in the industry or not.
In fact, AR Rahman had recently said in an interview that he has been getting relatively less work in the industry for the last few years and there could be reasons behind this like power shift and communal bias. After his statement, a debate broke out on social media and in the film industry. As the controversy escalated, Rahman clarified that his intention was not to hurt anyone’s sentiments and India is his inspiration, guru and home. He said that his statement was taken in the wrong context.
It is noteworthy that AR Rahman’s birth name was Dilip Kumar and he adopted Islam at the age of 23. After religious conversion, his name was Allah Rakha Rahman. While some people are supporting Rehman’s statement regarding the controversy, Anoop Jalota’s comment has further intensified the debate.
