Anupam Kher’s powerful entry in Prabhas’ Fauji, makers release poster on birthday
The makers of Prabhas’ upcoming Telugu period drama Fauji have announced the addition of a new lead actor to the cast of the film. On the occasion of veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher’s 71st birthday, the production company announced that the ‘Metro’ and ‘Dino’ actors will be a part of the film. On Saturday, production house Maitri Movie Makers wished Anupam Kher on his birthday and announced his inclusion in the film ‘Fauji’.
In the caption, he wrote, “Awesome Anupam Kher Happy birthday to G. We are honored to have you in the Fauji team. Wishing you a happy and healthy year ahead.” Earlier, on Prabhas’ birthday in October 2025, the makers of the film released the first look poster of Prabhas from the film and revealed his character. He wrote, “Prabhas is #Fauji – the bravest story of a soldier in an untold chapter of our history. Happy birthday, rebel star.”

The film Fauji tells the story of a brave soldier from one of the lesser known chapters of Indian history. It is worth noting that the film is written and directed by Hanu Raghavapudi and produced by Bhushan Kumar and Y. Produced by Ravi Shankar under Maitri Movie Makers banner. Music is composed by Vishal Chandrasekhar and cinematography is by Sudeep Chatterjee. The film is edited by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao.

On the professional front, Anupam Kher was last seen in Vivek Agnihotri’s “The Bengal Files” opposite Pallavi Joshi and Darshan Kumar. He will next be seen in Prashant Bhagia’s “Khosla Ka Ghosla 2”, a sequel to the 2006 film “Khosla Ka Ghosla”. Meanwhile, Prabhas was recently seen in the horror-comedy “The Raja Saheb” and will next be seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s “Spirit” opposite Tripti Dimri. The film is slated to release in theaters on March 5, 2027.
