**Anurag Kashyap**’s neo-noir thriller **Kennedy** is all set to make its long-awaited Indian OTT debut on **ZEE5** on February 20, 2026. It premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival (25 May) to a seven-minute standing ovation. Starring **Rahul Bhat** and **Sunny Leone**, the film traveled to international festivals before receiving a theatrical release in India despite CBFC clearance and digital distribution (including letterboxd video stores on December 10, 2025).
To add to the excitement, the makers released a surprise **transformation video** of Rahul Bhat on February 18, 2026 (Report Mid-Day, Zee News, Bollywood Hungama). It showcases her rigorous physical and emotional preparation for the title role: extreme weight loss/gain, intense workouts, sleepless nights to come to grips with insomnia, and internalizing the character’s quiet anger and moral dilemma. Bhat described the process as punishing but rewarding, showing a man going through a difficult time.
Bhat plays **Uday Shetty** (aka Kennedy), an ex-cop who was thought dead but becomes a ruthless contract killer for a corrupt commissioner (Mohit Takalkar). By day, he is a cool driver; At night, a hitman seeking revenge and redemption in the dark underbelly of Mumbai. Sunny Leone plays **Charlie**, a mysterious character who adds layers of intrigue. The story depicts corruption, violence, weakness and inner demons in a powerful, atmospheric style—Kashyap’s worst work in years.
Critics praised Bhatt’s restrained, dialogue-less performance, calling it career-defining, combining brutality and humanity. Internationally it was hailed as one of Kashyap’s best recent works, raw and heart-touching. The trailer (which was released earlier) highlights the film’s moody visuals, intense action and Bhatt’s powerful character.
