Apart from Rishabh Pant and Kl Rahul this IPL winning captain is all set to set the auction on fire

The countdown to the deadline for IPL franchise player retention lists has approached one week with anticipation of the IPL 2025 auction hovering on the horizon. A number of well-known players have emerged in the speculation about whether or not they will be included in the auction lot such best known players as KL Rahul Rishabh Pant etc. We have seen that every time a regular member of Indian cricket team finds a place in the auction pool, it creates a lot of excitement in the auction. Now, there is another name to be added to that list—this time, a name of an IPL-winning captain. The IPL-winning captain is neither MS Dhoni nor Rohit Sharma nor Hardik Pandya.

It is Shreyas Iyer. In a video aired on ESPN Cric info, a discussion reveals that it is an ‘open secret’ that Kolkata Knight Riders’ IPL-winning captain, Shreyas Iyer is not confirmed to move out but is seriously considering after learning of a huge offer from another team.

Each of the 10 franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL) now has to finish composition of their respective player retention lists. It has been reported that 31st October is the deadline set for the players retention list prior to the IPL 2025 mega auction. As reported, the BCCI has scheduled for the mega auction of the Indian Premier League to be conducted at the end of the last week of November. However, as for the date and the venue, the BCCI has not communicated any official information to the public.

That said, there are two opposing statements regarding the date and the place where the auction will take place.

While TOI said that the auction would take place on November 30. The last year’s IPL 2024 auction also took place in Dubai, and the “Indian cricket board may stage it in Dubai again” the report states.

However, Sportstar has claimed that the auction will take place in Riyadh, which is in Saudi Arabia, and it will be held over two days (November 24 and 25).

London and Singapore were the original possibilities for the base of the auction. But due to a comfortable time difference, it is now more plausible that Riyadh can win.

It was stated in Sportstar that “the Board and the IPL officials are in the ‘final stages’ for the venue that can host the entire contingent including the delegations from the 10 franchise owners and a big team from Jio and Disney Star for a period of three days.”
