‘Apologise or pay Rs 5 crore to stay alive’: Salman Khan gets another death threat
New Delhi: The Mumbai Traffic Control Cell has received a death threat against Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The threatening message has purportedly been sent by brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
The message sent to the traffic control room claims that it is Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother speaking. The sender says that “if Salman Khan wants to stay alive, he should either apologise at our temple or pay Rs 5 crore. If he fails to do so, we will kill him, as our gang is still active”.
The police stated that they became aware of the threatening message on Monday when an officer working in the traffic control room found it at midnight. The police are currently searching for the person behind the message.
When the sender retracted the threat
On October 18, Salman Khan received a threatening message, in which the sender had demanded Rs 5 crore to settle an ongoing dispute with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. But a a few days later, the sender claimed that the message had been sent by mistake and he offered an apology. The original message was sent to the WhatsApp number of the Mumbai Traffic Police control room.
The message allegedly was sent by a person linked with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. It stated that the Rs 5 crore was important to resolve the conflict between Salman Khan and Lawrence Bishnoi. The message also warned that non-payment of the amount may lead to dire consequences for the actor, with reference to the recent murder of politician Baba Siddique.
On October 29, a 20-year-old youth was arrested from Noida for issuing death threats to Salman Khan and Zeeshan Siddiqui, MLA and son of NCP (Ajit Pawar) leader Baba Siddique. Mumbai Police took Gufran Khan into custody and shifted him on a transit remand. Police said that Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Bandra received messages, issuing death threats to Salman Khan and the MLA unless they paid a ransom.
