Apple AirPods Pro 3 can monitor your heart rate, will be launched soon
Apple is working on its next-generation AirPods Pro 3, which is expected to include advanced health tracking features. These new earbuds will be based on the second-generation model, which was launched in 2022 and received an update to the hearing aid feature in September 2024.
Possible features in AirPods Pro 3
According to the latest report from Mark Gurman's Power On newsletter, Apple is testing several health-focused features in the AirPods Pro 3. This may include all of the following features:
heart rate monitor
temperature sensor
However, according to the report, the accuracy of heart rate data received from AirPods may not be as accurate as that of Apple Watch, but this difference will be very minor. Apple is working on further improving this feature.
Health Tracking and Integration
According to the leaks, users will need to wear both the earbuds to activate the heart rate monitoring feature. This feature will sync with the Apple Health App and can be customized through Bluetooth settings.
Possible launch timeline
Even though the AirPods Pro 3 are still in the early stages of development, reports suggest that its future version (possibly in 2027) may come with features like an in-built camera and AI-powered health tools. These cameras will help in gathering additional data, which will increase the efficiency of the device.
Mark Gurman's report also mentions that Apple is focusing on strengthening its “Apple Intelligence” platform, which will pave the way for further innovation in the AirPods line-up in the coming years.
Increasing attention towards smart home market
Apart from AirPods, Apple also plans to focus on the smart home market in 2025. The company may launch an AI-driven smart home hub next year, which will be its first product in this segment.
Apple is preparing to present the best combination of health technology and audio experience through its AirPods Pro 3. With innovation in wearable tech, Apple's move could make it stronger in the health tracking and smart home markets.
