Apple clarifies its policy on Siri data security, emphasizes on this
Obnews Tech Desk: Apple issued an official statement on Wednesday reiterating its commitment to the security of users' data processed by Siri. The statement comes after a lawsuit alleged that Apple recorded private conversations with Siri and sold them to third parties, such as advertisers. Apple clarified that the data processed during interactions with Siri was never used by the company for malicious purposes.
Apple's official denial
Apple said in its newsroom post that all its products and features are based on the principles of privacy technologies, data minimization, on-device intelligence and transparency. The company did not comment directly on the ongoing litigation, but rejected the complainants' allegations.
“Apple has never used Siri data to create marketing profiles, provide it for advertising, or sell it to anyone,” Apple said in the statement. “We are constantly developing technologies to make Siri more secure and will continue to do so.”

Siri's security technology
Apple said that Siri has been designed in such a way that it keeps users' data safe. Most of the processing work is done on the device itself. Like reading messages, giving suggestions through widgets and Siri search. Apple claims that the content of the messages does not leave the device because it is not necessary to fulfill the request.
Apple also clarified that audio conversations are only recorded if users choose to share it to contribute to Siri's improvement process.
