Apple Music is offering two months free subscription, but conditions apply
Delhi Delhi. Apple has introduced a new offer for Apple Music subscribers in India. Under the offer, Apple Music users can get two months of free subscription. However, there is a condition with this offer. The Apple Music offer that gives users two months of complimentary subscription will be available only if they pay for one month. In other words, Apple Music subscribers can get three months of subscription for the price of one month. This offer comes days after Apple increased the price of Apple Music subscription in India.
The company has increased the one-month subscription price for an individual from ₹99 to ₹119 to maximize revenue amid the economic adjustment in India – although Apple has not officially given any reason for the price increase. Thus, Apple Music subscribers can get three months subscription for ₹119. The offer is available through the Apple Music app on iPhone in India with a banner that reads “This offer expires soon.” However, Apple has not said when this offer is ending. It is still not clear whether this offer is available only for new subscribers or old subscribers are also eligible for it.
Similar to Apple Music's subscription hike, the offer follows Spotify's strategy of offering three months of premium subscription at a discounted price of ₹59. Costing less than ₹119 per month, a monthly subscription to Spotify Premium will cost less than ₹20 under this offer. However, Spotify says that this offer is only available to new subscribers, which means that old subscribers cannot use this offer and will have to continue to subscribe at the regular price. The ongoing offer for Apple Music subscriptions will eventually end, but iPhone users have other ways to get a free subscription. Apple offers three months of free Apple Music subscription to owners of the new AirPods devices. iPhone users can also get up to two months of free Apple Music subscription through the pre-installed Shazam app.
