Big shock for iPhone users, Apple removed Chinese apps from American App Store, now downloading becomes difficult.

US China Tech War: The ongoing technology war between America and China has now reached a new and important turn. This time the impact has directly fallen on iPhone users. Tech giant Apple has started removing or blocking several popular apps of Chinese company ByteDance from its App Store in the US. After this decision, it has been a big blow especially to those users who wanted to download the original version of TikTok used in China, Douyin or other apps of ByteDance.

Why are Chinese apps being removed in America?

In fact, America has been trying to crack down on Chinese apps for a long time citing national security. According to a recent report, many American iPhone users have complained that now they are not able to even search ByteDance’s apps on the App Store.

Even if a user accesses the app through a link, the App Store displays a clear message on it “Not Available in Your Region”. This means that downloading these apps in the US has now become almost impossible.

Why are questions being raised on ByteDance?

The US government suspects that the Chinese government can obtain data of American citizens through ByteDance’s apps. However, the company has always rejected these allegations.

Nevertheless, both the major political leaders of America, Joe Biden and Donald Trump, have advocated taking strict action against these apps. This new decision of Apple is also considered to be a part of the same strategy.

Danger looms over these apps too

This action is not limited to the Chinese version of TikTok only. Many video editing and social media apps related to ByteDance’s ecosystem may also come under the ambit of this action. These apps, which are very popular among content creators, are now becoming difficult to download for American iPhone users.

VPN and Region Change are also not working

Some users are trying to use methods like VPN or Region Change to avoid this restriction. But this is no longer easy due to Apple’s strict security policy. The company has strengthened its location and Apple ID verification system so much that it is becoming difficult to use these apps on phones with American SIM or ID.

What effect will this have in India?

India has already banned hundreds of Chinese apps including TikTok. But in a big market like America, this action of Apple is considered important because it can increase the strictness against Chinese apps in other countries also. Which users will not face problems?

According to the report, users who already have these apps installed on their phones can currently use them normally. But if the app is deleted, it will not be possible to download it again.
