Apple set to upgrade Siri with multi-request feature in iOS 27
Apple Inc. is preparing a major upgrade for its voice assistant Siriintroducing a feature that allows users to handle multiple requests in a single command — a significant leap forward in its artificial intelligence capabilities.
Siri to Handle Multiple Commands in One Go
According to sources familiar with the development, the new feature will debut with iOS 27, iPadOS 27and macOS 27 later this year.
The enhancement will enable users to combine tasks into one prompt — such as asking Siri to check the weather, schedule a meeting, and send a message simultaneously. Currently, Siri processes each request separately, which has placed it behind newer AI assistants.
Apple’s Push to Modernise Siri
First launched in October 2011, Siri has struggled to keep pace with modern AI tools. Apple’s latest push aims to transform the assistant into a smarter, context-aware system capable of understanding personal data and on-screen activity.
The revamped Siri is expected to function more like a chatbot, aligning with capabilities seen in platforms like ChatGPT and Google Gemini.
Apple is also reportedly developing a standalone Siri app and an internal feature called “World Knowledge Answers,” designed to fetch and summarise web-based information.
WWDC 2026 Announcement Expected
Apple is likely to showcase these updates at its annual Worldwide Developers Conferencescheduled for June 8, 2026 (IST).
The company initially demonstrated an AI-powered Siri in June 2024, but the rollout faced delays due to technical challenges. The upgraded version is now expected to launch later this year.
Deeper Integration and Smarter Actions
The new multi-request capability is expected to unlock more advanced use cases. For example, Siri could soon retrieve a photo, edit it, and send it to a contact — all through a single command.
Apple is also working on improved app integration through enhanced Siri Extensions, allowing the assistant to interact more effectively with third-party apps from the App Store.
Keyboard Enhancements Also in Testing
Alongside Siri upgrades, Apple is exploring improvements to its system keyboard. The new approach could offer smarter autocorrect suggestions and alternative word choices, similar to tools like Grammarly.
While the keyboard update is still under consideration, Apple has already introduced algorithm improvements in recent iOS updates to refine the typing experience.
