Apps like WhatsApp,
Now a revolutionary feature is about to come in Samsung Galaxy smartphones, which will allow users to use social media and important apps even without internet. The company has made popular apps like WhatsApp, X ‘satellite ready’ through satellite connectivity, so that there will be no need for mobile signal or internet plan. This feature can prove to be life saving especially in case of emergency, remote areas or in case of no network.
This satellite communication feature of Samsung is different from Apple’s emergency sauce, because here the work is being done through partnership with local telecom operators. Users will get a direct connection to the satellite, so that messaging, maps and other apps will be able to run without mobile data.
How will these apps run without internet?
A list of satellite ready apps is now available in Samsung Galaxy phones, which work even without mobile internet or signal. These include:
Find My Mobile
Google Maps
Google Play Services
Grok
Messenger (Facebook)
Messages
Samsung Account
Samsung Find
Samsung Health
Weather
WhatsApp
X
These apps can be checked in Settings > Connections > Satellite menu.
Partnership with local telecom operators
Tipster @theonecid on social media platform X has claimed that Samsung has provided satellite ready apps in Galaxy smartphones, which work even without mobile internet. For this the company has to partner with the local mobile operator. For example, Samsung has partnered with AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile in North America. At the same time, in Europe the company has made MasOrange, Virgin Media O2 its partners. In Japan, the company has partnered with operators like Docomo, KDDI, Rakuten Mobile.
