AQI crosses 400 in Delhi, ban on entry of petrol and diesel vehicles in Delhi, know here which work will not be able to be done due to Grape-3

On Saturday, the average air quality index in Delhi was recorded at 385, which is very close to the critical level. The air quality has reached severe category at 20–21 out of 40 stations in Delhi and AQI has been recorded more than 400 at some stations. These stations include Ashok Nagar, Bawana, Vivek Vihar, Shadipur, Chandni Chowk, DTU, Dwarka, ITO and Mundka. However, considering the AQI level and to control pollution, the Commission for Air Quality Management has implemented Graded Response Action Plan i.e. Stage-3.

The situation remained serious even on Sunday. AQI 402 was recorded in Delhi’s ITO area, which is kept in the very severe category. Regarding this, Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has informed that the necessary restrictions to stop pollution in Delhi have now been implemented permanently.

These things will be banned under Grap-3

Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that now there will be a permanent ban on entry of petrol-diesel vehicles without valid pollution certificate and vehicles below BS-6 standard in Delhi. Earlier these restrictions were imposed only when GRAP was implemented, but now the government has decided to keep them in force till further orders. Let us tell you that there are many restrictions under Grape-3, which include ban on laying sewer, water line, drainage and electrical cables. Road and drain work is also stopped. All types of excavation work including boring and drilling are stopped and all demolition activities are also stopped. Apart from this, works related to building and gas cutting are also stopped. Painting and polishing are also not allowed.

However, during Grape-3, cement plaster, coaching, indoor repair and maintenance work can be done. Cutting and grinding of tiles, stone and other flooring materials is prohibited, but minor repairs are permitted indoors. There is a ban on waterproofing work, but chemical waterproofing is exempted. Work related to road construction and major repairs remains closed. Loading-unloading of dust generating materials like cement, ash, brick, sand, broken stones also remains closed. Vehicles carrying construction material are prohibited from plying on unpaved roads and demolition waste also cannot be transported. Movement of BS-3 petrol and BS-4 diesel vehicles has also been banned in Delhi. Please note that due to Grape-3, the government had implemented the work from home rule for 50 percent of employees in all government and private offices on December 18.
