However, Saira Banu's lawyer Vandana rejected these rumors outright. Advocate Vandana clarified in an interview that there is no relation of any kind between AR Rahman and Mohini Dey. He said that Saira and Rehman have decided to divorce with mutual consent and understanding. The rumors floating around this matter are affecting his children.

Rehman's daughters, Khatija and Rahima have also expressed displeasure over these rumours.
