On Wednesday morning, the music maestro took to social media and acknowledged the heartbreaking news of the couple filing for divorce after 29 years of marriage. After their photo from Anant Ambani- Radhika Merchant’s wedding went viral, another video of Nita Ambani from the reception night is doing the rounds on the internet where she is talking about the family.

Recently netizens dug up an old video of AR Rahman, Saira Banu and their son at the lavish Ambani wedding that was held in July 2024. In the video, draped in elegant pink saree, Nita Ambani can be seen appreciating every member present of the Rahman family. Praising his son, Ameen, the chairperson of Reliance Foundations thanked Saira for her presence. Filled with praise, the family matriarch acknowledged the legendary singer’s contribution. “He is AR Rahman’s son and I have seen him since a little boy. So lets give him a big round of applause…Saira never, Saira is actually invisible. She has come here and made her presence felt and is here post midnight lets give her also a round of applause, and once again to the living legend AR Rahman, he makes India proud,”she said.

Mukesh Ambani, Isha Ambani-Anand Piramal, Akash Ambani-Shloka Mehta, Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant are all seen standing on the stage amidst the celebration. AR Rahman and Shreya Ghoshal gave a stunning and melodious performance at the wedding.

AR Rahman, accompanied by his Firdaus orchestra, delivered a spellbinding performance that left the guests in awe. He played the piano and sang few of his timeless classics – Without you, what should I say, silently, and again.

Shreya Ghoshal also joined Rahman on stage for “Barso Re” and “Kehna Hi Kya,” among others.

Saira Banu and AR Rahman were last spotted together at the wedding. This was the last post of the couple together shared on his Instagram. Amid the family turmoil, their children Ameen and Khatija requested for privacy on their social media.
