A blockbuster trade could be brewing ahead of NBA free agency, with the Detroit Pistons and Sacramento Kings reportedly discussing a sign-and-trade centered around rising star Jalen Duren and three-time All-Star Domantas Sabonis.
According to multiple reports, Duren is expected to meet with the Kings when free agency opens to explore a sign-and-trade after contract negotiations with the Pistons stalled. The 22-year-old restricted free agent is reportedly unhappy with Detroit’s initial contract offer, creating uncertainty about his future with the franchise.
Duren is coming off a breakout 2025-26 season in which he earned his first All-Star selection and an All-NBA Third Team honor. His impressive campaign has significantly increased his market value, but the Pistons appear reluctant to meet his salary expectations.
