Argentina Wildfire : The fire in Argentina's Nahuel Huapi National Park has so far destroyed more than 3,500 hectares of area. According to reports, the park's administration said in a press statement on Friday, “After several reconnaissance flights, the perimeter of the fire was updated with greater accuracy, estimating the affected area to be 3,527 hectares.” He said on Friday morning the area was engulfed in smoke, which spread into nearby valleys and made it difficult to conduct aerial operations to control the fire.

Access from Los Rapidos to the Circuito Cascade Los Alerces area will be conditionally restricted on weekends, with only authorized vehicles of official institutions and local residents allowed.
According to reports, as of December 27, 2024, the forest fire had destroyed approximately 1,450 hectares of the iconic national park. The fire broke out in the southern part of the park on December 25, 2024, and is now moving toward the northern tip of Lake Martin, reaching an area already devastated by wildfires in 2022.
