This has happened a few days after the release of his latest song ‘Matribhumi’ from Battle of Galwan on social media. The reason for retirement is not known. However, Arijit made it clear that he will not stop making music.

Arijit, who has won the National Award twice, confirmed that his songs will be released in 2026, but now he will not sign new films. He has made this announcement on Instagram.

Arijit wrote on Instagram that Hello, Happy New Year to all of you. I want to thank all of you for giving me so much love as listeners for so many years. I am happy to say that from now on I will not take any new work as a playback singer. I’m finishing it. It was a wonderful journey.
He further said that God has been very kind to me. I am a fan of good music and in future as a small artist I will learn more and do more on my own.
