India’s most popular playback singer and lyricist Arijit Singh has recently made a big announcement regarding his career. Arijit has announced his retirement from playback singing, which shocked his fans. However, he has also made it clear that he is not stopping making music. Arijit Singh informed about his decision through social media and assured the fans that even though he will no longer sing new songs for films, his relationship with music will always remain.

Announced retirement on Instagram

Arijit Singh wrote in the Instagram post, “Hello, Happy New Year to all of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the love I have received for so many years. I am happy to say that now I will not take any new assignment as a playback singer. I am ending it here. It has been a wonderful journey.”


Arijit will complete pending projects

Giving relief to his fans, Arijit said that he will complete all his previously planned projects. He told that some of his songs are yet to be released in the year 2026. “God has been very kind to me. I love good music and will continue to learn as a small artist and keep making my music. I want to say clearly that I am not stopping making music.”

Last Playback Songs and Upcoming Releases

Arijit Singh’s last playback song is said to be ‘Matrubhoomi’ from Salman Khan’s film ‘Battle of Galwan’. Apart from this, there are also some incomplete projects, which will be released in the coming months. It is noteworthy that Arijit Singh started his music career in the year 2005 with the reality show ‘Fame Gurukul’. After this, he entered Bollywood in the year 2011 with the superhit song ‘Phir Mohabbat’ from the film ‘Murder 2’. This song is still a part of the playlist of music lovers.
