Arms used in Baba Siddique murder were brought by duo from unknown man in Udaipur

New Delhi: In yet another shocking revelation in the Baba Siddique murder case, the Mumbai Crime Branch’s investigation has brought to light the fact that the weapons used in the former Congress minister’s killing were brought to Mumbai from Udaipur, Rajasthan. The police stated that both the persons providing and receiving the weapons were not known to each other. According to the Crime Branch, the accused Ram Kannaujia and Bhagwant Singh, who went to Udaipur to get the weapons, received the arms from a man who they didn’t know.

After reaching Udaipur, the gang sent a photo of the shirt worn by the person delivering the weapons to both accused as a form of identification. They were then directed to go to a secret location to collect three pistols from the man in the shirt. The same modus operandi was used during the shooting at Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence.

According to the Crime Branch investigating the Baba Siddique murder case, this modus operandi has made it quite difficult to ascertain who provided the weapons to Ram Kannaujia and Bhagwant in Udaipur. However, efforts are being made to identify that man.

The probe by the Mumbai Crime Branch has also revealed that Ram Kannaujia and Bhagwant put up in Udaipur for one day and then went to Mumbai by road from Rajasthan after getting possession of three pistols from a person the following day.

They kept on changing mode of transport

During the travel from Rajasthan to Mumbai, they kept on changing their mode of transport and also boarded a government bus along with several private vehicles throughout the journey. After reaching Mumbai, Bhagwant Singh and Ram Kannaujia stayed in the city and gave the three weapons to shooter Shiv Kumar Gautam through courier in the Ghatkopar area after getting instructions.

The Crime Branch said that Ram Kannaujia and Bhagwant Singh were in Mumbai during the murder of Baba Siddique’s murder on October 12, and they fled after the three-time MLA was shot dead.

Earlier, during the interrogation of the arrested suspects, it surfaced that the shooters had gathered information about Baba Siddique a few days before the killing by researching on social media, conducting recce and observing banners, an officer from the Mumbai Crime Branch had stated.
