Arrest warrant issued against Robin Uthappa, allegations of scam in this case

Arrest warrant has been issued against former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa. He has been accused of scam in PFO i.e. Provident Fund. Former Indian batsman is accused of a scam of Rs 23 lakh. According to the port, Uthappa is accused of deducting ₹23 lakh from the salaries of the employees while managing Century Lifestyle Brand Private Limited, but did not deposit it in their provident fund.

What is the whole matter?

Actually, Robin Uthappa runs a clothing company based in Bengaluru. He is appointed as a director in this company named Century Lifestyle Brands Private Limited. According to the PF Commissioner, this company had to deposit Rs 2336602 in the accounts of its employees. But despite deducting the money, the company did not do so, due to which an arrest warrant was issued against Uthappa in East Bengaluru. However, the police said that Uthappa has not been living at the address given in the warrant for the last few years.

 

Currently Uthappa is in Dubai. The police have also informed the PF office about this and said that now this matter does not come under their purview. According to the report, at present no official FIR or complaint has been registered against Uthappa. He had only received arrest warrant orders from the PF office. Let us tell you that Uthappa earlier lived in an apartment in Pulakeshinagar on Wheeler Road, Bengaluru.

Robin Uthappa's international career

It is noteworthy that Uthappa played white ball cricket for India. He played 46 ODI and 13 T20 International matches in his international career. Uthappa scored 934 runs in 42 innings of ODI at an average of 25.94. During this period, he scored 6 half-centuries, in which the high score was 86 runs.

Apart from this, in 12 innings of T20 International, he scored 249 runs at an average of 24.90 and strike rate of 118.00. During this period, he scored 1 half-century, which was his high score (50 runs). Uthappa played international cricket from 2006 to 2015. He made his international debut in April 2006 in an ODI against England.
