Arrest warrant issued against Sheikh Hasina, order to appear before November 18, India in trouble

New Delhi: Difficulties have increased for former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as well as for India. Actually, a Bangladesh court has issued an arrest warrant against Hasina. Not only this, the court has ordered Sheikh Hasina to appear before her by 18th November.

This information was shared by Mohammad Tajul Islam, Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal (ICT) of Bangladesh. Hasina is also accused of killing several students who lost their lives during the student movement. Many cases related to human rights violations are being investigated against Sheikh Hasina in Bangladesh.

Demand for Sheikh Hasina's extradition has been raised several times in Bangladesh. India is also facing a diplomatic crisis in this matter. It is believed that because of Sheikh Hasina, relations between the two countries may also be affected.

Will the extradition treaty survive or break?

Actually, an extradition treaty was signed between India and Bangladesh in 2013. Now the question arises that if the interim government of Bangladesh demands the extradition of Sheikh Hasina, will India accept its request. However, in this situation, this decision will be very challenging for India also.

According to the extradition treaty between India and Bangladesh, criminals involved in border insurgency, terrorism and threatening national security will be sent back on the request of either country. The most important thing in all this is that the charges against the person should be different under the punishable offense in both the countries.
