Green signal given to Dahisar-Bhayander Link Road in Mumbai

Mumbai. Dahisar-Bhayander Link Road has got the green signal. Mumbai Municipal Corporation will construct this link road at a cost of Rs 2,337 crore. A target has been set to complete this work in three and a half years. After the completion of this project, the distance between Dahisar and Bhayandar can be covered in just 5 minutes. This will save huge time and fuel. At present it takes one hour to reach Bhayandar from Dahisar.

Dahisar-Bhayander Link Road Project is the last phase of the Coastal Road Project. The second phase of Mumbai Coastal Road is divided into six packages. In this, the Dahisar-Bhayander Link Road starts from the last ‘F Package’, which connects Gorai to Dahisar. This elevated corridor in Dahisar will start from Link Road (Dahisar West) near Kanderpada Metro Station and end near Subhash Chandra Bose Garden in Bhayandar West. The Dahisar-Bhayander Link Road will pass over several Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) protected areas including mangrove forests, Dahisar Bay and salt pan lands. There is a distance of about 10 kilometers between Dahisar and Bhayandar.

The route passes through the congested Western Express Highway. This link road will provide an option to bypass congested junctions like Dahisar Check Naka. The project is likely to be completed by December 2028. The initial six months are kept for obtaining necessary statutory permissions. Currently BMC is waiting for environmental clearance. After this, the work on the second phase of the project will start at full speed.
