IndiGo crisis still continues, 5 flights canceled from Patna airport on Monday

Patna. Indigo crisis still continues. Five flights have been canceled from Patna’s Jaiprakash Narayan International Airport on Monday. Passengers are facing a lot of problems at the airport due to cancellation of flights for the sixth consecutive day on Sunday. Many people could not attend interviews or other important programs, while some kept roaming around the airport throughout the day.

On Sunday, 10 Indigo flights going to Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and other cities were cancelled. Apart from this, the planes that arrived and departed were also delayed by half an hour.

Five flights taking off from Patna airport on Monday have been cancelled. These mainly include flights to Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata. Passengers are being personally informed about flight cancellations or delays.

In view of the Indigo crisis, East Central Railway (Hajipur) is operating a special train from Patna. For the convenience of passengers, one additional passenger coach each was installed in Sampoorna Kranti and Tejas Rajdhani Express on Sunday. Besides, a help desk has also been opened at the airport. A dedicated helpline number 9771449159 has been issued for air passengers.

Senior DCM of Danapur Railway Division, Abhinav Siddharth said that for the convenience of passengers, a special train is being operated from Patna to Anand Vihar Terminal. On Monday also, 02309 Patna-Anand Vihar Terminal special train will depart from Patna at 20:30 hrs and reach Anand Vihar at 15:00 hrs the next day. Apart from this, one additional coach of Third AC has been added in Tejas Rajdhani and one additional coach of Second AC has been added in Sampoorna Kranti, due to which the number of passenger coaches in both the trains has increased from 22 to 23. 24-hour help desk facility has also been made available at Patna Airport, which has provided relief to the affected passengers.

In the last six days, about 180 flights have not operated from Patna. Meanwhile, the airline claimed that it managed to operate 1,650 of its scheduled 2,300 daily flights. IndiGo CEO Peter Elbers said that the situation is improving and the network is expected to be stable by December 10.

58 flights from Patna will be canceled between 8th and 11th December
A total of 29 pairs of IndiGo flights—a total of 58 flights—will be canceled from Patna between December 8 and 11. This includes 12 pairs of flights for Delhi sector, 5 pairs for Hyderabad, and 4 pairs each for Kolkata, Bengaluru and Chennai. The airfare to Delhi on the night of December 8 has increased to Rs 13,200, and on that date all the flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad are fully booked.
