Residential areas with better water management and green cover will become the identity of UP.
Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government, which is striving to make Uttar Pradesh the best state, is working on a comprehensive action plan under Vision 2047. A roadmap is being prepared to make the urban residential areas of the state clean, safe, green and climate friendly. Under this scheme, work is being done on the strategy to give a climate and environment inclusive look to the localities of the urban areas of the state, so that better quality of life, pure air, safe water supply and clean environment can be provided to the common citizens.
The aim of the state government is not to limit urban development only to roads and buildings but also to link it with environmental balance and public health. This entire action plan is focused on two main pillars – first, the expansion of climate resilient green infrastructure, while the second component focuses on strengthening water security and ecological balance. Through these two pillars, comprehensive rejuvenation of the urban residential areas of the state will be done.
Development of safe and healthy residential areas through green infrastructure
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government is focusing on developing the urban areas of the state as per the future needs. According to the plan, a City Centric Climate Action Plan is being prepared for each urban area. Through this, local climate crises like rainfall, temperature, waterlogging, air pollution and carbon emissions will be assessed and their solutions will be implemented.
Preparation to implement many schemes on a large scale
According to the action plan, several initiatives regarding urban green cover will be implemented on a large scale. Under this, parks, green belts, green corridors and open green areas will be developed in the cities, so that pure air, temperature balance and environmental health can be improved in residential areas. Also, climate planning will be implemented at the locality level, so that local problems like waterlogging, floods, extreme heat and pollution can be regularly monitored and direct control can be established by implementing action plans in real time.
Water security and cleanliness will get permanent basis
The second main objective of this scheme is to strengthen water security and ecological sustainability. Under this, schemes for the revival of ponds, lakes and reservoirs of cities will be implemented, which will ensure availability of water throughout the year. Rain water harvesting will be specially promoted in every residential area, so that the ground water level can be improved.
Decentralized waste management system will be developed
According to the state government spokesperson, the focus is on developing a decentralized waste management system for garbage disposal in the urban areas of the state. According to the action plan, a system of waste separation, processing and disposal will be implemented at the locality level, which will provide a permanent basis to cleanliness, strengthen environmental protection and reduce pollution on a large scale. The government of Yogi Adityanath of the state believes that with the effective implementation of all these schemes, the urban residential areas of Uttar Pradesh will not only become environment friendly, but will also create a strong foundation of healthy, safe and clean life for the coming generations, which will also become a role model for other states of the country.
