People of Bandra Government Colony, Mumbai will now get permanent houses.

Mumbai Maharashtra government has already decided to provide permanent houses to the people living in Bandra Government Colony. The government is committed to implementing this decision effectively. This information was given by Public Works Minister Shivendra Singh Raje Bhosale in Nagpur Assembly on Saturday.

MLA Varun Sardesai had asked a question about this. In response to this, Minister Bhosale said that after the cabinet decision, a high-level committee was formed under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary. A meeting of this committee has also been held. A total of 90 acres of land in Bandra Government Colony has been reviewed. There were a total of 370 buildings in this area, out of which 68 dangerous buildings have been demolished. The government has also decided to give some plots for the High Court.

Minister Bhosale said that the committee will take the final decision on how to include citizens living for five to 25 years and for how long people should be considered eligible. The committee is also studying how much land is available in the colony for rehabilitation. If in future more land has to be given for the High Court, how much area will be left? He said that if sufficient land is not available in the Bandra government area, other sites will be found in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region area.
