Nepal’s former Deputy Prime Minister Lamichhane gets bail in cooperative scam
Kathmandu. Butwal High Court has ordered the release of Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Ravi Lamichhane on bail. They will also be allowed to go abroad, but for this it will be mandatory to take prior permission of the court.
According to the information officer of the court, Ram Bahadur Kunwar, the court has directed to release Lamichhane on depositing a bail amount of Nepalese rupees 2 crore 60 lakh. Five conditions have been laid down in the order for Ravi’s release. These include accepting pre-arranged bail, keeping safe the bank guarantee given in lieu of bail, giving prior information to the court if there is a need to travel abroad, etc. Apart from this, the court has also placed a condition that if any additional liability is determined as per the decision of the court in future, then he will agree to repay it also.
